Opening hours

The observatory is open during the dark months of the year.

We offer presentations Monday-Friday app. 15 evenings a month at the following times:

November-March: 19.00. 

1 to 28 April: 20.00. 

May-September: Closed.

Adults 25 kr. Children 25 kr.

The Ole Rømer Observatory opens app. 10 min. before the presentation. The presentations are in Danish. If you wish to book a presentation in English, you have to book a separate presentation.

Booking has to be done the day before the presentation at the latest.

Please call +45 87 15 54 15 at the following times: Tuesday-Friday 9.00-16.00.

If you are prevented from participating, please call to cancel the agreement.

Getting here

By bus

Routes 1 and 18 stop at Carl Nielsens Vej by the racecourse. Find routes and timetables at midttrafik.dk.

By car

The address of the observatory is: Observatorievejen 1, 8000 Aarhus C.

The observatory is situated in the southern part of Aarhus C.

There are parking spaces for cars by the observatory. Parking facilities for busses are available at the parking space of the racecourse.

Access for disabled persons

There is no easy access for wheelchairs as there are no lifts in the old observatory.

The observatory has toilet facilities, but no wheelchair-accessible toilet.

Assistance dogs are welcome at the observatory.

Clothing

Remember to wear warm clothes. When we use the telescopes, we open the observatory to the chilly night sky.

Photos and video

You are welcome to film and take pictures at the observatory for private use. Please follow staff instructions.
