Golden toothpick cactus

Golden toothpick cactus has long green stalks with many bundles of golden, toothpick-shaped spines. Its flowers are tubular and do not open much. They are pollinated by hummingbirds that can just fit their beak down into the narrow flower tube.
Golden toothpick cactus grows naturally between stones and rocks in arid valleys in the Andes. It is easy to grow and is often used as an ornamental plant in warm and dry regions around the world.
