Inch plant
A popular trailing plant with leaves perfectly adapted to capture the little light that reaches the forest floor.
Inch plant is a herb that grows on the floor of the tropical forest. The underside of the leaf is red. This red color reflects light back into the leaf. In this way, the plant can better utilize the minimal amount of light that reaches the bottom of the rainforest.
Inch plant is commonly grown as a houseplant, often as a hanging plant. It is easily propagated from cuttings. Every section of the stem has the ability to quickly sprout roots if placed in water or pushed into the ground.
