Kadsura
Kadsura is cultivated as an ornamental plant because of its beautiful, shiny, dark green leaves and the bright red fruits, which are edible. It is dioecious, which means it has male and female flowers on different plants. Since we only have one plant in the greenhouses, it will never be able to get fruit.
Kadsura belongs to the plant family Schisandraceae. All species in the Schisandraceae family are characterized by having primitive flowers in which there is no distinction between sepals and petals.
