Maidenhair  vine is common as a house plant and is almost winter hardy in Denmark. It can be grown in pots or as ground cover in the garden, if it is protected during winter.

Many plants have puzzling scientific names – the genetic name, Muehlenbeckia, is in honour of the Swiss doctor and botanist H.G. Muehlenbeck, who, funnily enough, was most known for his work on alpine mosses.
