The mango tree is one of the most widespread tropical fruit trees. It can reach 40 meters in height and live to be 100 years old. It produces an abundance of fruits that are valued for their sweet and exotic taste.

The fruit can be green, yellow or red in colour. The flesh of the fruit is yellow with a large slightly compressed seed inside. 

Unripe fruits are used to make mango chutney.
