Myrtle-leaf milkwort is commonly cultivated in southern Africa. It is a hardy, fast-growing plant that is used as a hedge plant or as an ornamental shrub, due to its beautiful red-purple flowers.

Myrtle-leaf milkwort is commonly for sale in many places in Denmark. It performs well in conservatories or as a potted plant outdoors during the summer. It tolerates only very light frosts.
