Take a guided tour of Aarhus University Park and discover the fascinating stories behind Denmark’s largest oak park.

Are you visiting as a group? You can book a guided tour of the University Park.

Hear the stories of Victor Albeck and the founding of Aarhus University in 1928, C.F. Møller and the construction of the iconic yellow university buildings, and the development of the new University City on the site of the former municipal hospital.

Discover what lies beneath the car park at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, and find out why the university was built on a former landfill site.

You will also see the student residence where Princess Margrethe lived while studying at Aarhus University and hear about the dramatic historical events that unfolded in the University Park residence halls during the Second World War.

Practical information

The tour starts and ends at the Steno Museum, C.F. Møllers Alle 2, 8000 Aarhus C.

The walking tour lasts approximately 1¼–1½ hours and covers around 3 km. Please note that there are no opportunities to sit down along the way.

The meeting point is just outside the museum entrance. In case of rain, we will meet in the museum foyer.

Participants on the guided tour receive free admission to the museum.

Please note that parking at the museum is free, but your vehicle must be registered at the museum ticket desk.

Tours are available Tuesday to Sunday during the Steno Museum’s opening hours.

Total price on weekdays: DKK 1,125 (during museum opening hours)
Total price at weekends: DKK 1,500 (during museum opening hours)
